What sets Harkness Screens™ 3D screen surfaces apart?
Harkness Screens™ Spectral™ 240, the most popular 3D screen surface in the world, is the ideal surface for “passive” front projection with 3D systems using polarised light, such as RealD. The extinction ratio is high and provides spectacular 3D images. The intrinsically high gain (2.4) overcomes light losses in 3D systems.
Perlux® brand gain screens, our most popular 2D front projection surfaces, can also be used for “passive” 3D systems not using polarised light such as Dolby, as well as “active” (shutter eyewear) 3D systems to overcome inherent light losses in 3D projection.
For front projection auditoriums with behind-screen speakers, Harkness offers perforated screens to achieve acoustic transparency. The usual perforation pattern for cinema operations is “Standard Perf,” though for viewing distances of less than 5 metres (16 feet), “Mini-Perf” (MP) is recommended. Where there are no speakers behind the screen, non-perforated screens are available.
Harkness screens can be made to virtually any size required, and finished with your choice of edge treatments to suit your preferred installation method.
