Perlux® brand gain screens, our most popular 2D front projection surfaces, reflect more light back to the audience than matt white surfaces, and are available in 3 gain levels (1.4, 1.8, and 2.2). Harkness Screens™ recommends Perlux® screens for digital cinema auditoriums because they can reduce digital operating costs by enabling reduced power consumption, smaller lamps, and less frequent lamp replacements. Harkness guidelines for specifying Perlux® products by digital screen size are:
- Perlux® 140 for widths greater than 9 metres (30 feet)
- Perlux® 180 for widths greater than 12 metres (40 feet)
- Perlux® 220 for widths greater than 20 metres (66 feet) as well as certain 3D systems
