Film and Video Umbrella ‘A Light Shines In The Darkness’
A combination of five Harkness Translite™ and Stagelite screens were used to provide six artists’ visions of religious experience to visitors of various church sites.Using the powerful architectural presence of ancient buildings and developing the theme of light and darkness, Film and Video Umbrella partnered with the Churches Conservation Trust to create a programme with the aim of improving the value of religion.

Shafts of celestial light often found in a church were replaced by the beam of a projector, while the Translite and Stagelite screens were used to illustrate the cultural role of the churches.
